End of summer, hello fall...

The watermelon Amy and I grew this summer was amazing.  It wasn't huge, but the flavor was.

Megan does what big sister does.  Amy does what Mommy does.
Can you say too many cooks in the kitchen????? :)

All of my tomato plants went red at once.  I taught myself how to make salsa, and it was amazing.

Amy picked one of our pumpkins.  Don't know about you, but I think this is a spooky pumpkin. :)

My girls

"Always look fabulous...even when you are doing art."
- Megan

Sweetest big sister ever. :)

Getting our spook on...

Here are a few pictures of our fall decorations.  Not much, but enough to get a certain 4 year old really excited for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Cute little scarecrows from the dollar store.  Score!

I always wrap the banister for Christmas.  I got the fall leaves from the dollar store and added it to my pine garland...now I am half ready for Christmas.

Amy and I do the ghosts every year.  We added the pumpkin bags after we cleaned out the garden.

This is the door leading to the backyard.  It started off with a couple of bats, and then quickly transformed into a spooky scene thanks to Amy.  The colorful spot in the upper left is "a galaxy, mom!"  She did the pumpkins, ghosts, moon, and spooky trees.

I drew one pumpkin for Amy, and she was able to draw them on her own after that.

Why it takes me a little while to get things done...

Doing the laundry is really more of a group thing anymore...

Amy, the designer....

Amy told me that this white t-shirt was not "beautiful enough," as I got her dressed for school this morning.  This is what I found when I picked her up from school today.  I guess she decided to take her dislike for this shirt into her own hands.
"Now it's really pretty, mom."

Utah State Fair 2013

Today the girls and I headed down to Salt Lake City for the state fair.  We got there early, and were able to have a ton of fun before the rain started.  It was a great day, thanks in large part, to our wonderful neighbor, Mollie, who came with to help with the girls.  Meg got to run around like a wild woman, and Amy got to go on all the rides she could stand.  Of course, the rain started picking up around lunch time, so we said farewell to the fair, and went to the City Creek Mall for some lunch and playtime.  In all, it was an excellent day.
